..am feeling rather unoriginal. Some things about today, in pictures.
I changed it up a bit. I’m a bit out of the breakfast groove for the moment, but I’m trying to roll with it. Today’s menu:
Microwave protein banana oat cake (adapted from Averie’s recipe)
- 1 small banana (3/4 medium banana)
- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 1 scoop Sun Warrior (or other protein powder or cocoa powder for a chocolate version)
- splash of almond milk – just enough to dissolve the powder
Directions: Mix all ingredients until a paste forms. Grease a microwave safe bowl (I used my coconut oil cooking spray), scoop in mixture. Microwave for 90 seconds. Remove from the microwave, let it cool for a few minutes to firm up, and then it should pop right our of the bowl! Add your favorite toppings and enjoy!
I used some of this:
re-hydrated PB2, and some cinnamon. Delicious and filling – though today was another little slip-up. I had a few snacks right after this breakfast, including some pecans dipped in cacao bliss. I probably needed the calories, but I let the control go for a bit. I tried to listen to my body for the rest of the day!

Mom’s homemade taboule (thanks, Mom!) with fresh green city market ingredients. Again, delicious and refreshing.
Tonight’s dessert was again made by Mom:
Mexican Chocolate Tofu Pudding. I was in spicy-creamy-chocolatey heaven. So the day ended on a better note. I’m beginning to get the hang of this letting-go-of-guilt thing. Still not easy, but getting there!
On a completely unrelated note, my hair today magically looked really cool in back…
Wish I could have taken a better picture, but it’s just a french twist to keep the hair off my face in the hot weather.
